one week

one week our little man has been with us for one week now and we are loving every minute as a family of four. he is such an easy baby, eating and sleeping well, and rarely do we hear him cry. he makes the best noises, little coohs and kitten purrs that make your heart melt. i forgot how wonderful the new baby phase is and how hard it is to do anything except cuddle and stare at them all day long.

my parents were here all of last week helping which has been invaluable in helping us to adjust. today marks our first day learning to do this on our own and to be honest i'm a bit nervous but i know that we will figure it out.

eleanor is doing great as a big sister! she has moments where she struggles with sharing our attention and a few where she forgets that attempting to tear his face off is not gentle but overall she is the sweetest with him. as soon as she wakes up in the morning and comes into our bed she points at him and says hi. often, throughout the day, she will stop what she is doing and come over just to look at him and to shower him in kisses. i just know that they are going to be the best of friends.

p.s. felix has a cleft chin that makes me smile
